Hub Le Bas has been shortlisted for the Business of the Year prize at the 2015 Express & Star Business Awards – the winner will be announced tomorrow evening at a black-tie dinner.

Billed as the region’s premier business awards, the glittering event celebrates the best companies, products and entrepreneurs in the Black Country, Staffordshire and the surrounding area.

Judges will be looking for companies that “demonstrate the powerful combination of inspirational and focused leadership with a dedicated workforce” when selecting the winner. An “outstanding commitment to customers, innovative use of new technology, investment in staff and a sense of corporate social responsibility” will also be considered during the final judging process.

Hub Le Bas will compete against two other finalists at the Wolverhampton event, which is set to be the biggest awards that the Express & Star has ever organised, due to an unprecedented number of applicants and a longer list of sponsors.

Keith Harrison, editor of the newspaper, said the strong level of entries is “testament to the resilience of the economic recovery we are now seeing. These are the companies and organisations that are the bedrock of that recovery; their ambition and the growth they are creating are putting us all on the path to a brighter future.”

Winning the prestigious award would be a huge achievement for the company, highlighting its commitment to improving leadership, employee management and business growth. It will also boost the company’s profile and recognise the hard work of its staff.

A total of 33 finalists have been shortlisted for the 12 award categories, which include Best Place to Work, Young Business of the Year, Best Use of Technology and Community Champion. Designed to showcase the outstanding performance of Midland businesses, all tables at the upcoming event have sold out well in advance.

Nick Owen, presenter of the BBC’s Midlands Today will host the show. Hundreds of business leaders will attend the black-tie dinner taking place at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Thursday June 11th to celebrate a year of success in their respective fields.
